Sunny Side Up

Dude, seriously, geek.

Twiddledum or Twiddledee?

After three debates between Kerry & Bush, I'm rather disappointed with the results. Kerry gets 1/3, Bush gets 0/3, none were any more or any less convincing in overall performance. While Kerry did kick ass in the first debate, the next two were quite bland and neither had strong policies to sway or ensure voter decisions.

The only definite that comes out of this debate is John Kerry would be a better diplomat and has a much better command of the English language than President Bush though the president himself comes out more personable to the average American.

Kerry as expected did well at health, economics, education and social issues but Bush pulls right alongside him all the way since the first debate. If I was an undecided American I would still be nonplussed and remain undecided after this week. Then again winning the debates doesn't really matter as shown in the 2000 election where Al Gore kicked ass in all debates yet lost by mere 1 percent at the eventual polls.

Speaking of elections, I'm rather surprised that 2004 seems to be the year of global elections. We've had elections in Spain, Russia, Lithuania, Nigeria, 3 elections in Indonesia, Australia and Afghanistan had their respective elections last week, and the US next month. I'm sure there were others that I can't recall right now.
