Sunny Side Up

Dude, seriously, geek.

Sport, sport, sport, and more sport

New Zealand lost to South Africa last night. Not too happy with how they've been going in the Tri Nations. Whatever it was they've been working on obviously isn't paying off. Their forwards kept getting walled up, runners not finding and making gaps, it's just not their style. If Australia wins next weekend, that's it for New Zealand, say bye bye to the trophy.

On a brighter note, Melbourne Storm finally won an away game since the early part of the NRL season. Only their 3rd away win, it came at the most crucial time and against Canberra, who's just as desperate for a win. Melbourne need only at most two wins to secure a finals berth and that win today kept the team on 6th place above the ever improving Cowboys. Though the Storm won, it doesn't look like they can win next week against the Dogs cuz there were too many basic errors like lack of ball security and loose passes. Seven tries to three sounds impressive but in reality we could've piled on at least 3 more tries if basic ball handling skills were respected. Also, Canberra were playing like retards. Very lethargic, no attacking pattern, equally no ball security and no last tackle options, which seemed to always land perfectly on Storm's hands. Their attacking raids never really connected except in patches. Well, a win's a win and the 2 points help a long way to playing yet another finals game.

Ferrari managed to lock the top two grid position for tonight's Hungarian Grand Prix with Michael Schumacher securing pole position. McLaren seemed to have caught the bug yet again, qualifying 10 and 12th after a series of strong performances following their new car package a couple of months ago. Williams, ever desperate to win a grand prix, thinks a new nose would do them some good. They discarded that wide and gaping nose design that looked like an air intake for the F22 jet fighter for a smaller, more traditional design. It seemed to work on the practice sessions but they end up 6th and 7th for the race. Running order: M. Schumacher and R. Barichello, followed by BAR pairing T. Sato and J. Button. Alonso got ahead of Antonio Pizzonia who's replacing Ralf Schumacher and JPM gets 7th position. Fisichela's Sauber rounds up the top 8. As usual, Ch. 10 won't be showing the race live so I'll have to wait until 10:30 for the delayed coverage unless I wanna watch the live stats fly across my screen from Formula 1's official website
