Sunny Side Up

Dude, seriously, geek.

Cold.. rain.. wind, oh and the Olympics is apparently on

Not exactly stuck but I haven't been home since last night. Rain hasn't stopped since about 3 o'clock early this morning (according to my bro) and doesn't look like it's going away anytime soon. Someone asked me last night if i was gonna watch the opening in the morning. I asked back, what opening?

Turns out, the Athens Olympics opening was this morning at 3:30. *shrugs* I don't know what all the hype is for. The Winter Olympics, on the other hand, is a hell of a lot more exciting competition to watch. Hockey, luge, bobsledding, snowboarding, they all kick summer games' asses. What is more fun than lying down on a board with skis and lunge yourself down through the icy tracks? WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! :D They love it so much, people took it to the streets and have street luge competitions :D :D

Winter Olympics is the closest thing they got against the X-Games and Winter X-Games in terms of appeal and coolness factor (awful pun forcefully intended :D). The big thing about the Olympics is of course, the drugs issue. Even now, they're still considering if the winners of the 2000 Sydney Games' Men's 4x100 relay, team USA, should surrender their medals cuz one of the members either failed or didn't turn up to a doping test in a competition held before the 2000 games. On the eve of this morning's ceremony, two Greek athletes who were considered to be flag bearers for the opening were under investigation after they missed a doping test a few hours before (missing one is considered a fail) and crashed their motorbike. It's not about winning medals, it's about getting away with doping. Apparently the entire US track and field team is also under scrutiny.

Well anyway, I wasn't gonna wake up at 3 in the morning just to watch a few thousand people walk around in a stadium waving their hands, smiling, and taking pictures. It's on replay on TV right now and even then, I found out by accident through channel flipping. Right now, I'm more interested in how to get some food in my stomach!! There's not many in the fridge and the nearest supermarket is pretty expensive. The rain outside doesn't help my situation but there's bananas and bread but that's about it. I"m sure I'll come up with something.
