Lazy+Rugby
I don't feel like making an entry for this weekend. Kinda busy yet lazy at the same time, so here goes...
Storm won their last home game of the regular season 34-22 and ending the 8 game winning streak of the Wests Tigers. Captain Robbie Kearns got a fitting send off from the team and the crowd. That's the 3rd year in a row we put an end to a team's long-term winning streak. In 03 it was the Panthers and the Raiders, in 04 it was the Bulldogs. Panthers went on to win the 03 title, Bulldogs won last year's, so is it an omen the Tigers will go all the way this year?It also happens to be their first year in the finals since joining the competition as a merged club five years ago so the players won't have as much finals experience as some other teams.
If we win next week and they lose, we get to be 4th and play week one of the finals at home against the Tigers again because we'll be 4th and they'll be 5th. If we lose, who knows what'll happen. We could be playing them in Sydney or play the Broncos in Brisbane in a repeat of last year's finals, heh, wouldn't that be interesting. Last season the Broncos were farewelling their captain and we crashed their party. They lost. This season, we're farewelling our captain and they have a chance to strike back except it won't be a complete reverse since they won't be playing in Melbourne.
The All Blacks won their Tri-Nations match against South Africa last night and apparently they have a new Haka. Not realizing the game was on replay this afternoon, I missed it. Damn.
