Mate, you're banned
Someone in the Australian Federal Parliament got offended when someone called them the most Australian of all words, mate. I can't imagine why. After receiving a complaint about it, the Department of Parliamentary Services promptly banned the use of the words in Parliamentary premises. Yep, they banned people from using the word mate in the heart of the Australian government of all places.

The ban was lifted this morning after complaints from the Prime Minister no less and discussions in the lower house chamber ridiculing the ban.
