Sunny Side Up

Dude, seriously, geek.

Only in New York

You know the joke about standing next to a "No Standing" traffic sign? It's going to get worse because two men were fined $50 each for standing next to a No Standing sign.

A pair New York Parks Department officers drove by, stopped, warned, and then fined the men for failure to comply to a No Stopping No Standing sign. The officers argued that the sign was put for pedestrians, not vehicles and get this, when asked by the media, one of them said the two men were fined for sitting on the ground and refusing to comply to their orders.

So lemme get this straight.

Two men fined for standing next to a No Standing sign near a park gate
The men argued it's a sign meant for vehicles
The Parks officers said it's for people
One of the officers then said to the media that they were sitting on the ground
The men said they're being singled out because they're gay
Me: WTF??????

The Parks department even had the temerity to stand by their argument that the sign were meant for people. Well, at least as soon as Mayor Bloomberg found out, he cleared everything for them. Gah, New Yorkers.
