Sunny Side Up

Dude, seriously, geek.

And we're back

After 3 days in Semarang (45 minutes by airplane east of Jakarta) for a wedding ceremony over the weekend, Mom, Dad, and I returned home to find out the phone line's been dead since we left. Therefore, no net at home until it was fixed this morning. Turns out the overhead cable (yes, the local telco still uses overhead cabling) was cut by glass-laced kite string.

The neighborhood kids play kites everyday after school near my house since it's on a dead-end street so it's relatively safe from passing cars and there's no park anywhere near for them to play in. We don't mind them playing there since they got nowhere else to play but this is getting a bit too often and too inconvenient.

I'm gonna recommend my parents to yank the landline and switch to CDMA since despite being wireless, they cost the same anyway and net connection is faster. The only problem is finding out which CDMA network has coverage in this area, how good their service is, and how much they cost. I don't wanna switch and then find out there's minimal coverage or they got a shoddy billing system that I've heard so often about.

They try to take each other's kites out. It's an air battle. We usually find about two or three kites a day in our yard.
